Corrosion Testing Practices-High Alloy Corrosion Program

ABSTRACT
Recent work conducted on high alloy castings has shown that the shrinkage behavior can be linked to the cooling rate and temperature gradient. The variation in cooling rate within a given casting can also affect the microsegregation potential and concomitant corrosion resistance. A research team led by Lehigh University is investigating the influence of ASTM corrosion test variables in order to improve the reproducibility of these test results.
