Development of Continuous Cooling Transformation (CCT) Diagram
ABSTRACT
Development of reliable TTT and CCT diagrams are crucial for determining the most economical heat treatment and cooling schedules for proper control and processing of castings. The development of these diagrams will save considerable energy as material is processed through the foundry. Since TTT and CCT diagrams are alloy-specific, research team at ISU will correlate experimental results with simulated results based on thermodynamic calculation and will predict CCT diagrams for alloys not yet studied.
